A new idea, the SpeakEasy Cabaret is a mix of spoken word event and brilliant, best of the Edinburgh Festival, acts.  It happens on the first Saturday of the month in Central London.

First Half - storytelling by anyone who wants to tell a story. Or sing a song.  Or read a poem. Only two rules. The story must be true (and yours!) and no more than 10 minutes long.  Contact us if you'd like to book a slot.

Second Half - top acts direct from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.  All for a tenner! (£15 on the door)  If you'd like to know more, please email speakeasy @ mavericktheatre.co.uk

And after a trial of three months, we decided the event was so warm, supportive, creative and funny, we're going to extend it into 2019.  And we have a remarkable line-up of established acts... along with our first-timers... and hopefully YOU!

Next event - Saturday 2nd Feb 2019.

Madame Chandelier's Rough Guide to the Opera

And possibly you?

Madame Chandelier's Rough Guide to the Opera  is everything you never knew was funny about opera. Brought to you by one woman, who's got jokes, an accordion, and some F-ing high notes.

Having spent over a decade performing and training as an opera singer, Madame Chandelier looked around one day and thought, you know what opera really needs? Jokes. Drinking games. A Nessun Dorma sing-along. (work in progress)

Come along and experience M. Chandelier try out her new material on Saturday 2nd February, Upstairs at the Wheatsheaf Pub, Rathbone Place, London W1.

The pub is open all day - upstairs doors open 7.30pm.  Tickets a tenner in advance.  £15 on the door.  Storytellers come for free!
